Avoid stripes, plaid, and patterns. Solids photograph much better.
Bring a variety of colors (don’t bring 5 blue outfits because it’s your favorite color)
Vary your style and dress level. Bring some dressy to casual.
Plan outfits completely from head to toe.
Remember, If mom gets her nice shot, she is much happier to let you show your style.
Remember under shirts, tanks, and various undergarments for different outfits.
Keep jewelry simple. We want the attention on you. Remember to change it up for each outfit.
PROPS…Bring them!! Sports Equipment, Uniforms, Music Instruments, Hobbies, Scarves, Hats, Shoes…ect… These help to make your photographs unique and bring out your personality.
HAIR…Avoid changing or cutting your hair right before your session.
GLASSES…Most glasses glare, some more than others. Your best bet is to check with your optometrist, most will loan you and empty set of frames for your session.
SUNBURN…Sunburn and peeling skin DO NOT photograph well! Tan lines are not attractive in portraits so plan your outfits accordingly.
MAKEUP… Makeup should be only slightly heavier than normal. Mascara should be clean and not clumpy. Don’t worry about blemishes. they can be retouched.
TATTOOS/SCARS/BRACES/PIERCINGS…Just let us know if you want them to show or not. It’s that easy. Scars are not automatically retouched, but can be removed or softened at your request. Extensive work may have a slight extra charge. Braces? Don’t worry. You could have the tops taken off by your orthodontist or for a fee, our printing lab can take them out of photographs.
NAILS…Finger and Toes SHOW! Have them tidy and remember that brightly colored nails won’t match each outfit.
